Interview with Petr Cech

When you changed your diet? Why?
I started eating vegetarian in 90’s and later vegan in 2001 because of ethical and environmental reasons. And then after one year switched to a raw food diet because it made sense and also because of health reasons.
Please explain a little about your personal experiences with Natural nutrition…
Well, Natural Nutrition should mean something coming from nature, not changed by any means. What we find in nature and it is edible and we eat it as it is. From my experience this is the best way to eat. It can be a mono meal of bananas, mangoes, tomatoes etc.
I believe that the ideal foods for humans are edible fruits. In my experience, if eating enough to satisfy ones energy needs, eating high quality fruits and about one third of it being non sweet fruits like squash, tomatoes, cucumber, bell peppers, it is possible to eat a diet consisting of 100% fruits only.
Green leaves can be beneficial and for most people necessary, as they have higher mineral content compared to fruits.
My personal experience with eating fruits was amazing. Not only because of health, energy and spiritual advantages of such a diet, but the most beautiful experience was to connect more deeply with nature and exploring the fantastic world of fruits.

What about your experiences with patients? Which diseases are easier to cure with natural nutrition?  Which are more difficult to cure?
It is mostly a question of vitality and if there is some irreparable damage in the body than some kind of disease one has been diagnosed to have.
But usually high blood pressure, kidney problems, diabetes 2, coronary diseases are among those diseases where you can expect a recovery as long as there is no permanent damage done.
Recovery can be more difficult or impossible from conditions like diabetes 1, advanced stage of cancer, chronic fatigue, etc.
It should be always remembered that even if there is almost no chance for full recovery, there will almost always be improvement of the condition, in some cases so big that it will mean a new life for the patient.
Which foods should be avoided necessarily? Or in other words, what do you think about the worst foods that human eats?
The worst foods from edible foods are those generally called junk food, refined foods and foods prepared with high temperatures as is the case with frying or grilling.
Animal foods are of course worse than plant foods, because 1) we are not designed well to eat them and 2) Animals store up to 14 times more environmental toxins in their tissues than what is the case with plants.
What do you think about our modern lifestyle? Which changes are necessary in your opinion?
If modern lifestyle is about having money, electronic gadgets, accumulating knowledge, hanging out and on the other hand having no time, being depressed and sick, then it is maybe obvious what we need to change to be happy.
If we live up to “First do no harm” I believe that will do for now.
Vegan lifestyle with fresh fruits and veggies is the fundament for our survival. To knowing ourselves, becoming consciously aware of who we are and living in accordance to Natural Laws is the future for humans.
What do you think about Animal Rights?
Every living being should of course have rights to be here, to live its own purpose and be a part of Creation. Our abuse of animals is totally unnecessary and until we abolish it we will never find peace in this world.
What do you think about the future of Raw Veganism & Natural Nutrition?
I believe future is bright, more and more people are becoming vegan and conscious about eating, thinking, doing things. Thanks to internet ideas reach so many people in no time and just think about you and what you are doing and there are new people everyday spreading the word about veganism.
I write some words here, please write your opinion about each word:
Raw Foods: Best way to eat your food, but it should also be whole foods with some variation and not too many fats.
SunLight: There would not be Life without it and everybody living in cold climate knows how deteriorating it is to spend whole winter without sunlight. We need it everyday best on whole body in appropriate amounts.
Fruits: Paradise food, if we plant fruit trees everywhere we go, there will be paradise on Earth.
Fruit is Love and if we eat it, we will abide in Love and Love in us.
Smoothies: Can be helpful when transitioning to raw food / fruitarian diet. Also for people with some health problems.
Can be also handy if you don’t have some good tasting fruits, you can probably still make a good smoothie.
Longevity: Longevity for the most part is dependent on healthy lifestyle. Life can be shortened or prolonged by the way we live and it also affects the quality of it.
Nature: Nature is our mother and it seems that right now we are at age 3-4, pushing her limits, but eventually we will have to disobey and accept her laws.
Meditation: If meditation means seeking a calm state of the mind, it is quite important. It is nothing difficult and can be achieved purely by eating the right fruits.
Health: Health is our birthright. Good Health is the key to unlock all potential we can have in us. Without it, Life cannot be lived up to the highest.
Humanity: Humanity has reached the point where it must become consciously aware of itself and start living according to Natural Laws or face the more and more obvious consequences of breaking them.
Internet: A great possibility for us to connect with each other and spread informations very quickly. Hopefully it will serve us well in the future and we won’t become slaves of it.
If you want to say a specific message to the readers of this interview, please feel free!
Vegan lifestyle based mostly on fresh fruits is a great way how to improve our life quality and help regenerate the Earth. It helps with so many aspects of Life, that it is almost too good to be true. But it will prove true to everybody who will do it intelligently.
Make a passion for everything you do in your Life and make sure your passions are full of Love and Wisdom. That way you will have the best moment of your Life every single day.

Everything You Think You Know About Animals is Wrong

Human beings are the most intelligent, and therefore important, of all the world´s species, right?!
…But advances in cognitive ethology (the scientific study of animal intelligence, emotions, behaviors, and social life) have now disproved these ´truths´, showing that many other creatures also display a complex range of emotions, highly evolved communication skills, compassion for others, and even intelligence that rivals- or surpasses- our own. These ground-breaking studies force us to ask some uncomfortable questions about our place in the world, and have caused leading experts to call for a radical rethink of the way we treat other animals….

Interview with Nasim, a Vegan Body Builder

Some days ago, I’ve found the website of a bodybuilder girl on the web which was very interesting for me. So I contacted her and ask for an interview, and she accepted my request kindly. Now, I invite you to read this nice interview.
1. First, Please tell us about yourself (where did you live, why you became vegetarian, your actions, etc.)
I was born in Iran, which is a meat-lover country like all other countries. From a very young age I used to care about the animals and their welfare and think about the source of meat and where it came from and I knew that the fried chicken on my dinner plate once was a beautiful yellow chick! I was surprised to learn how people were so indifferent toward humanitarian issues, why harming and killing innocent animals were so normal to them, why they followed the ancient traditions whatever they were, why they looked at meat only as delicious food and not look at the source of this product? From that age I started opposing eating meat and wearing animal skin, and what my family and other people said in order to discourage me had no effect on me because I had faith that my belief was true and that meat is not a food of compassion and kindness.

2. What do you think about veganism and Raw-eating? Are you following a natural diet yourself?
Vegan diet is the healthiest diet for humans because human body is naturally an herbivore body. A human body does not want to attack, tear apart, eat or drink blood of a live animal upon laying eyes on her/him, but when she/he sees a grape on a vine, her/his mouth waters, walks toward the grape, picks and eats it. Another example, when you see a dead animal on the side of the road, are you tempted to eat the animal with your bare hands?
Following a vegan specially raw vegan diet benefits our health, animal welfare and survival of the planet earth because animal products are one of the major causes of environmental pollution and destruction. I grew up as a vegetarian but after becoming aware of how inhumane other animal products such as milk, dairy and eggs are produced and how harmful these products are to human body, I went vegan.

3. What are the benefits of a healthy vegetarian diet for athletes? Can you tell about your personal experiences?
I have been a vegetarian from a young age and I used to realize how healthier my body is compared to others. I always had higher energy, was active in sports and had stronger immune system (hardly caught a cold) unlike what most omnivores expected. After going vegan, I felt much more healthier and lighter, even more energetic. Most common question meat eater athletes ask vegans is that how can you get   energy from eating plants and where do you get your protein? Meat eaters believe that the only source of protein for building muscle is animal protein. The fact is that animal protein slows down digestion and the body has to get more energy from body to work harder to break down this protein because human body is not designed to digest meat, but plant based protein is easily absorbed and turned into energy.
This is one reason why vegans are more energetic. Almost any food has protein in it and foods high in protein are legumes, nuts, seeds and dark leafy green vegetables. Going vegan is so easy and the only important thing that we need to consider is eating variety of plant based whole foods and not even worry about taking supplements. I have never needed to worry about measuring my protein, vitamin or calories intake. You will know what, when and how much to eat when you become acquainted with your body.

4. We know that animal foods (meat, dairy and egg) are very harmful for body, but what do you think about unhealthy herbal foods like Macaroni or white bread?
We should try to eat more plant based whole foods and stay away from processed / filtered foods because the methods of preparation strip a lot of the nutrients.

5.And about your website; why you choosed the title “Peace Thunder” for it? When you started it and what is your future program for this website?
Do you pay attention to environmental issues, too? What solutions are need to stop worsing this situation?
What do you think about veganism, natural lifestyle and civilization? What do you think about eco-friendly technologies like Solar energy, which doesn’t pollute the environment?
I started my website and vegan activism in 2010 and tried different tools and methods of sending my message such as making the first Persian vegan TV commercial, TV shows and music video. Currently I am more active on youtube and my website is a good reference for people who like to know more about veganism. I chose “peace thunder” because veganism is not just a diet, it’s a belief that affects all stages
of life such as relationship with animals, people, nature and daily choices. Abusing and killing any sentient being is wrong no matter if that sentient being is a human or a dog or a sheep. A vegan lifestyle opposes cruelty to animals and also environmental pollution. Animal products produce lots of harmful chemicals and waste that are released to the surrounding areas and cause serious damage to the nature, plants and animals including humans. Therefore adapting a vegan diet means adapting a peaceful lifestyle that harms no animal and does not pollute our planet. Many meat eaters call themselves environmentalist and supporters of green living and try to plant trees, use gas efficient vehicles, less plastic bags or solar energy but do not want to pay attention to one of the most important sources of pollution and destruction of environment: their diet! If animal food is substituted with vegan food at least once a week, it would have a huge positive effect on the environment and living conditions of animals in factory farms who are abused and treated like comodities.
A quote from Einstein: Nothing will benefit human health and increase chances for survival of life on earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet.

6. What is your opinion about vegetarian and animal rights movements during these years? Are you satisfied with actions of animal rights charities?
Unfortunately the animal rights organizations face many difficulties in sending their message even in western countries because many media or even Internet websites only care about their own financial profit (and most of their financial profit comes from animal industry) not the health of public or the environment and therefore censor or reject their messages (personal experience). I began my activism with no encouragement or financial support and the only thing that kept me from giving up was my strong belief to do my best to help the innocent animals who live miserable lives in hands of greedy animal industry. “standup for what’s right even if you are standing alone”.
I also like to thank the Iranian satellite televisions and websites who supported my work and helped me spread the message of true peace.

 7. What do you think about wrong traditions like animal sacrification? Do you think this is a mis-conseption which have bacome popular by narrow-minded people?
Yes, I believe that animal sacrifice tradition is a misconception promoted by smart and greedy people to financially take advantage of people in the name of religion because sacrificing animals means buying and selling them. A righteous and thoughtful person opposes all kinds of violence, whether in traditional or in a religious frame. How can we expect god to show us its grace when we do not show ours to innocent animals.

  8. I write some words, please write your opinion about each word:
Fruits: Your life is the fruit of your own doing.
Human: Human beings are the only animals who drink milk from other species
Life: Life is beautiful if we know what the word beautiful really means!
Wealth: Problems arise when wealth ignores humanity.
Peace: A person who believes in love and peace, can not enjoy eating flesh of murdered
Health: Vegans claim eating meat is bad for our health, but wild animals (lions, bears,…) eat meat too!
Exercise: Many of us exercise to look better but only few of us exercise to think and live better
Meditation: Goal of meditation is to end suffering, increase awareness levels and positive feeling. If you
meditate but ignore the suffering of other sentient beings, then what you are doing is not meditation.
Earth: We are all animals and citizens of the planet earth.
Chicken: Everyday about 24 million chickens are killed in the USA for food.

  9. And Finally, if you want say anything with the readers of this interview, please feel free….
Veganism is a diet of peace for all caring citizens of this planet, humans and non-human animals and it is  the most effective strategy to save the planet from climate changes and global warming. Going vegan is much easier that you think, all you need is the desire to change for better.

Interview with Jonny Freesh

When you changed your diet? Why?
I started experimenting with dietary changes about 5 years ago, and discovered the Raw Vegan diet almost 2 years ago. The reason I changed my diet was simply that I wasn’t feeling very well physically. I felt slow, particularly mentally, sluggish, fatigued, and not like myself. It affected every part of my life. After university I quit alcohol and stopped partying and I still didn’t feel better. I was really confused by that. It was only when I adopted a high Raw diet that I began to feel healthy, and like myself again.

Please explain a little about your personal experiences with Natural nutrition…
I found that as soon as I started to eat real food, especially lots of fruits and veggies, and mostly raw, that a lot of things that were once difficult became much easier. Unhealthy behavioral and emotional habits that were holding me back slowly but surely dissipated and I found it much easier to follow my dreams. I was never one to get sick a lot, but now it happens even less often. And when I do feel a slight fever or cold coming on, I can kick it’s butt within a couple hours with some simple natural remedies.
Most importantly, my energy levels returned to where they were when I was younger, and sometimes, especially on juice fasts and when I’m eating almost all raw food, I have so much energy I don’t know what to do with it all! Raw Food is the sturdy foundation for my entire life; it allows me to build my lifestyle in whatever manner I choose.

Which foods should be avoided necessarily? Or in other words, what do you think about the worst foods that human eats?
The worst things that humans eat aren’t really food. It’s all the highly processed sugars and syrups that find their way into all processed, packaged, “foods”. They’re more like food substitutes because there’s no real food in them. The big one is High Fructose Corn Syrup and there are a million other similar ones with all sorts of names.

What do you think about our modern lifestyle? Which changes are necessary in your opinion?
My experience with the typical Western Modern lifestyle is that there is a stark lack of truth. What I mean by that is that the words and actions people take aren’t speaking to their true desires and thoughts. I know this to be true because I’ve done it myself, and so am able to recognize it in other people. It’s not like I’m perfect either; I still do it. It’s not easy, but I am now more conscious of it and work on it every day. It can be difficult and painful because it can mean disagreeing with people and going against societal norms and expectations.
The big change that I believe would be most valuable to take place is a major shift in the education system. I’ve learned more in the year and a half I’ve been running a Raw Food business than I did in my entire time in University. The issue I found with the education system all the way from grade school up to college is the lack of choice and trust. When I choose what I learn I’m much more inspired and motivated. It comes down to a matter of trust; when I trust myself and have the freedom to choose what I learn, I pick what speaks to me and supports the life I want to live. The education system as it is puts very little trust in students, particularly the very young ones, to make their own choices. It undermines confidence in a very covert manner. If we trust children to pick what they want to learn, they will choose the right subjects and will come out of school with direction and purpose in life.
And then it circles back to people speaking and acting with truth. If we are given the opportunity to learn to speak our truth, as well as pick actions and pursuits that we feel supports our true purpose in life at an early age, then it will be much easier for us to continue it throughout our entire life.

What do you think about the future of Raw Veganism & Natural Nutrition?
The future of Raw Veganism is that it will move from being a counter culture diet into being part of the standard diet. Not everyone will eat mostly raw or vegan, but eating a large percent of Raw Vegan food will be a major part of many peoples’ diet.
As far as Natural Nutrition goes, I think that slowly but surely people are already catching on that eating all those supermarket food substitutes is horrible for the body, and they will gradually shift to only eating real food. I don’t push any specific diet; I teach the tools required to enjoy the one that has worked for me, which is a high raw diet. My philosophy is that everyone has a completely unique diet that is right for them. There is only one maxim I have in regards to nutrition and diet: to be healthy, you have to eat all REAL food.
People know that inherently, and with so many passionate people spreading this message in their unique way it’s only a matter of time before the economics of health shift, which will allow people to eat organic and real, instead of feeling like they have to eat packaged junk for whatever reason, be it economic or social pressure.

I write some words here, please write your opinion about each word:
Raw Foods:
The foundation of health. Everyone can benefit from including lots of Raw Food in their diet. Living Enzymes and Alkalizing Food are a necessity for the human body.
Balancing. Even though I live in Bali there have been times when I’ve gotten so caught up in my online business, my music, and my wonderful kitchen that I forget to go outside. Then I start to get slightly irritable. A healthy dose of regular sunlight keeps me feeling balanced.
Ridiculiciously Freesh. All my favorite recipes have fruit in them. Mostly durian ;)
Along with Green Juices, Green Smoothies the foundation of the foundation. Meaning that the foundation of my high raw diet is in Green Smoothies, Green Juices, and Salads. Lots and lots of them insure that I feel great every day. Oh and chia puddings too.
Pure beauty. I love trekking and Scuba diving. Being alone in nature is one of the most vivid feelings of wonder i’ve had in my life.
I’d like to do it more. Used to, not so much these days. Though I consider the act of making and performing music to be quite meditative, and I do that quite often. And also Freeshin’ (that means to make Raw Food) is very meditative for me. I find meditative acts most useful for slowing me down. I have so many things that I am doing and want to do that sometimes I try to rush them. I’d rather do one thing really well than 5 things poorly, and meditation helps me do that.
Doesn’t go hand in hand with but rhymes with wealth
Requires hard work and can’t be bought on a shelf
Nor is it as far away as the land of the elf
It’s within your grasp like you have just felt
At a crossroads. It seems like half the world is going one way and the other half is going in the complete opposite direction. And we could either split in two or loop around and meet in the middle.
Incredibly powerful if used correctly. Highly addictive at the same time. There’s a never ending supply of tools to achieve our dreams at the tip of our fingers. Not to mention entertain ourselves. I find it easy to get overwhelmed by and lost in all the options, so it’s important for me to stay aware of how I’m using it.

If you want to say a specific message to the readers of this interview, please feel free to share here.
Right now it be the season

Do you need to convince others to become raw vegans?

Article by Osha

A raw food vegan diet sounds extreme to a lot of people for obvious reasons. We are surrounded by chicken, beef, yogurt, cheese, butter, milk chocolate, latte, muffins, ice cream, cheesecakes, etc, every day. Eating meat and dairy in western society has become so “natural” that eating a chicken and cheese sandwich for lunch is considered more “normal” and “natural” than eating apples and oranges.
However, as more people become food conscious, raw vegan diets are gaining more fans and followers. When a person is convinced that a raw vegan diet is the healthiest and the best way of eating, he or she, (let’s call them Phil and Susan), usually get very passionate about it. Like a superhero, they want to tell the rest of the world that fruit and veggies is the cure to all diseases, pollution, starvation and unhappiness in the world.
Phil and Susan feel the urge to convert their steak-loving friends into banana munchers. They feel that they are doing their friends a huge favor.  Saving them from  heart disease, cancer, depression and being overweight. They actually become so passionate that their friends see their passion as aggression. Their friends and relatives think that humans need to consume meat for protein, milk for calcium, yogurt for a good digestion and cheese for a beautiful smile. They don’t want to listen to Phil’s and Susan’s claims and facts about how raw food could solve many of their problems. “This crazy diet is too extreme.”  They wouldn’t be able to live without bacon and cheese.
Rumor has is that Phil occasionally has some sausage and scrambled eggs, and Susan secretly drinks coffee and eats cookies. We don’t know if it’s true. Could be just a rumor…
When Phil’s and Susan’s friends and relatives think that a raw vegan diet is just a joke and unhealthy (“well, you must eat meat to be strong and tough!”), they turn to their vegan friends and say “I need to convince them that eating raw is the best diet! I need to prove that I am right!”.
So this is what I would say to dear Phil and Susan: “Do you really need to convince others?”
Facts and claims about others’ bad habits usually make people defensive and have the opposite effect, don’t they?
Just be a shining example. Be confident about your food-style. Most importantly, try to understand where they are coming from – why do they have these beliefs?
First of all, accept the fact that your friends’ understanding of a healthy diet is different than yours. Don’t fight it. Accept that this is how it is – that they think differently. Your frustration and persistence only makes them more determined to force their beliefs on you. When you become relaxed and accepting, they will be more likely to listen to you.
Don’t explain or rattle off any facts or theories. Just ask them “How do you know eating meat and dairy is the best diet for your health?” They might say they had read it somewhere or listened to some doctor. Then ask “How do you know that doctor (or other expert) was right?”. “Are all the doctors in the world right?”, “If so, what about doctors that say a raw vegan diet is best for your health? Are they also right?”, “If not, how do you know which doctors (or experts) are right and which ones are wrong?” “Why do you choose to believe in the ones that say a lot of protein is right?” “Could it be that your personal preferences affect your beliefs?” “Is your research comprehensive?” “How many hours/days/ & years did you spend researching the topic?” And so on… If you do it right, the respondent will go silent.
It will only work if you stay very calm, pleasant, and genuinely interested in their answers. I know, it can be tricky with your parents and other close family members. They are usually the ones that have an ability to make you lose control :) So stay very present. When people want to prove their point and are very passionate about the subject, they tend to think only about what they are going to say next, rather than actually listening. This kind of conversation will only lead to confrontation.  If you want to be understood, always seek to understand first.
Don’t try to be right and win the argument. Winning an argument is almost impossible (even if you think you are right, another person won’t) and even if you did win it, would that really make your opponent healthier or make you a better person? Could it be that your ego is willing to be right and make others wrong?
Finally, why do you need approval? Do you think that by convincing others, you will actually convince yourself?
My mom used to say “What you haven’t done, you tend to compensate with talking”. Could it be that Phil or Susan feel that by talking a lot about the benefits of raw food they would make up for eating sausage or cookies?
